The American government is out of control with it's spending, foreign policy, and erosion of our civil liberties. If you care about our great country and want your children and grandchildren to live in a free country, then consider supporting Ron Paul or at least reading his views on the most critical issues facing America today and see if he doesn't make complete sense.
In an effort to be open minded, I went to Barack Obama's website to read what he would do if he was president. My stomach actually went sour. We are a Republic, not a socialist country. It is not the government's role to provide for each citizen's welfare from the cradle to the grave, redistribute wealth, or create massive healthcare and social programs. Those things are needed for the less fortunate, but that is where churches and non-profit organizations come into play. The only people who will pay for all the social programs that Obama wants is the middle-class, not the poor and certainly not the rich. Nevermind the fact, just like most of the presidential candidates, he has no plan to actually improve the current structure of our government. I know, let's just keep adding to the government's role in people's lives and spend more money. Where is this money going to come from? From the middle-class!
If you read "Issues" on Ron Paul's website (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/) and then read Obama's "Issues" (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/) you will quickly identify which person actually knows what the role of government is supposed to be as defined by the Constitution.
The Constitution is probably the most amazing documents ever written for a people. It was designed to keep you and I free from an overbearing government. It sure would be nice to have a president and congress that recognized this fact.
